Join Executive Director Michael Gitlitz for an Artful Summer Saturday in the Hudson Valley
10:15 AM Meet in the lobby of Magazzino Italian Art
10:30 AM Join co-founders Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu to tour through the Hudson River Valley’s newest art center, Magazzino Italian Art, to view the current exhibition Arte Povera: From the Olnick Spanu Collection which presents a comprehensive panorama on the artistic practice of 12 artists associated with the Arte Povera movement
12:15 PM- Lunch at Hudson House
2:00 PM- private tour of Manitoga / The Russel Wright Design Center in Garrison, the former home, studio and 75-acre woodland garden of American industrial designer Russel Wright which was created in collaboration with architect David Leavitt from an old rock quarry. Currently the work of recent studio visit artist, Michele Oka Doner, Manitoga’s Artist-In-Residence will be on view.
Please meet at the entrance of Magazzino Italian Art, 2700 Route 9, Cold Spring, NY at 10:15 am.
Note about Manitoga:
Tours typically last 90 minutes and are conducted rain or shine. Please wear sensible walking shoes and dress for weather.
Visitors must be at least 5 years old and able to negotiate uneven ground, several bridge crossings with no handrails and a flight of 40 stone steps.
Please note that the landscape portion of the tour is a moderate hike.
Pets, backpacks, large bags, and tripods are not permitted.
