Discover the history and culture behind the art. Begin with a virtual tour of Hands & Earth followed by a presentation by author Leila Philip, author of The Road Through Miyama. Philip’s memoir tells the story of her apprenticeship with a master potter in Miyama, a town in rural Japan with a centuries-old ceramics tradition. Philip will discuss her book, as well as her return to Miyama 30 years later, followed by a Q&A.
