Mary Lou Beitzel’s love of art and her practice as an artist led her to the Katonah Museum of Art over 50 years ago. The Museum was then known as the Katonah Gallery and was located on the lower level of the Katonah Village Library. From that time on, Mary Lou knew she had found her passion. She and her husband Spike were devoted to seeing the original Museum find its new home in Katonah, and how it developed into the beautiful Museum as it stands today. Mary Lou’s enthusiasm for the arts led her to serve on the Board of Trustees for many years and she loved participating in the Museum programs that have become such an important part of the community.
